The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Premieres a New Bed Utility Wall Package
For the 2024 model year, the GMC Sierra experienced the introduction of several updates and packages, including the LPO drop-in bedliner option. The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 now features another bed-related package, which is a utility-focused feature.
Tagged with RPO code PCO, the LPO or dealer-installed Utility Wall Package is available for all trim levels of Crew Cab Short Bed configurations of the 2024 Sierra 1500. Intended to provide owners with convenient ways to hang or store items in the bed of the truck, this option comes with an added cost of $1,495 and includes the following (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):
– Bedside Utility Wall Package (RVY)
– Utility Wall Latch Kit (5WI)
– Front Bed Utility Wall Package (SJS)
It’s important to note that this package cannot pair with the previously mentioned drop-in bedliner (RPO code VZX) accessory.
As a reminder, the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 comes equipped with various engines, including the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline TurboMax engine with a rating of 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine with a rating of 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine with a rating of 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine with a rating of 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.
Transmission options include either the GM eight-speed automatic transmission or the 10-speed automatic transmission, with 2WD as the standard on most trim levels and 4WD as an option.
Beneath the body panels, the GMC Sierra rides on the light-duty variant of the GM T1 platform, which it shares with the Chevy Silverado 1500. The 2024 model year production commenced in July 2023 at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.
