The 2024 GMC Yukon Will Maintain One of its Best Feature

The latest reports suggest that the 2024 GMC Yukon will feature many of the same features as the 2023 model, and there won’t be any dramatic alterations, just a few refinements on perfection. Initially, enthusiasts expected that the 2024 model would introduce a mid-cycle update with vast improvements, but the latest updates suggest otherwise. Furthermore, the GMC Yukon will continue to come equipped with the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine instead of the previously anticipated 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine.
The latest news on the Yukon is that the Big Red automaker initially planned to introduce a new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine to replace the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine currently available for the 2023 model year. The new diesel engine would have launched along with the 2024 model-year refresh. However, General Motors has announced that the refreshed version of the GMC Yukon will likely debut for the 2025 model year or later. Therefore, the 2024 GMC Yukon will continue to offer the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine as the optional diesel powerplant.
The reconsidered 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine boasts several improvements over its predecessor, the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine. The turbodiesel engine enhancements include a retuned turbo compressor, better temperature control, new steel pistons, and new fuel injectors. Thanks to these upgrades, the LZ0 delivers up to 305 horsepower at 3,750 rpm and 495 pound-feet of torque at 2,750 rpm, yielding a 10 percent increase in power and a 7.6 percent increase in torque compared to the LM2 engine, which only produced 277 horsepower at 3,750 rpm and 460 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm. The LZ0 engine is now available in 2023, and newer models of the GMC Sierra 1500 and Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup trucks.
Please remember that the 2024 GMC Yukon will cruise along on General Motors’ T1 platform while production commences at the automaker’s Arlington plant in Texas.
