2025 GMC Yukon: A Bold Redesign with Powerful Engines and Advanced Technology

The 2025 GMC Yukon will make waves in the SUV market with its dynamic new design and exciting upgrades, giving fans something to look forward to. This mid-cycle refresh of the Yukon’s fifth generation brings many bold changes, including a striking exterior makeover, a refreshed interior, and cutting-edge technology that elevates driving and towing capabilities.
Among the most eye-catching updates is the Yukon’s revamped styling. The redesigned front and rear fascias create a more aggressive and refined look, featuring a bold new grille, sleek LED headlamps, and updated taillights. These changes give the Yukon a fresh, contemporary presence on the road while maintaining its rugged, adventurous character that fans have come to love.
Beneath the hood, the new Yukon offers three powerful engine options catering to various driving preferences. The lineup begins with the 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, generating 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, which is standard on the entry-level Elevation and the off-road-focused AT4 trims. For those craving more power, the 6.2L V8 L87 engine boasts 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, which is standard on the new AT4 Ultimate and Denali Ultimate trims and is an available option on the AT4.
The standout addition to the Yukon’s powertrain lineup is the new 3.0L I6 LZ0 Duramax turbodiesel engine, which delivers 305 horsepower and an impressive 495 lb-ft of torque. This diesel option is available across all five trim levels, though some trims require specific package configurations to unlock it. For instance, while the AT4 Ultimate and Denali Ultimate trims can get the diesel engine without extra packages, other trims need additions like the Super Cruise feature or advanced technology upgrades.
Inside, the 2025 Yukon provides comfort with luxury in mind. The refreshed cockpit boasts a larger infotainment display, updated digital instrumentation, and premium materials that give the SUV a sophisticated feel. Enhanced connectivity features and the latest version of GMC’s user-friendly infotainment system ensure every journey is enjoyable for drivers and passengers alike.
Built on the sturdy GM T1 platform, which has served as the foundation for the Yukon since the 2021 model year, the 2025 version retains its solid structure while integrating new features that boost performance and capability. Production may kick off on October 7th, 2024, at the GM Arlington Assembly plant in Texas, alongside other iconic GM SUVs like the Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, and Cadillac Escalade.
With its bold new look, diverse engine options, and state-of-the-art technology, the 2025 GMC Yukon is ready to set a new standard in the full-size SUV market, offering something for every type of driver.
