The 2024 GMC Acadia Will Offer Super Cruise
Last month, the North American International Auto Show (September 13-24th, 2023) saw the debut of the 2024 GMC Acadia, a stunning SUV. The latest iteration of the Acadia comes with a modern design, larger exterior dimensions, and updated technological features. The most significant addition to the upcoming GMC SUV is the introduction of GM Super Cruise, an advanced autonomous driving aid. Super Cruise will be available in Elevation and AT4 trims, making it an essential feature for potential buyers.
As mentioned earlier, GM’s Super Cruise is an autonomous driving aid that allows drivers to drive on highways for extended periods without touching the steering wheel. It is not surprising that the upcoming Acadia will offer this safety feature. However, what sets the Acadia apart from contenders is that the SUV will make the feature available on lower-end trim levels like the base-level Elevation and the off-road-oriented Acadia AT4. It is unusual for any automaker to offer sophisticated safety aids on lower trims as they are usually only found in higher-end trims.
GMC recently introduced a new trim-level strategy, which seems promising. The new Y trim level strategy will follow Cadillac’s model. The base-level Elevation trim will form the foundation of the Y, which will branch out into either off-road-oriented trims such as the AT4 and AT4X or luxury-oriented trims such as the Denali and Denali Ultimate. The new strategy aims to better understand the different trim levels compared to the previously more ambiguous trim hierarchy.
The 2024 GMC Acadia is coming with some exciting changes. The new model will have a longer, wider, and taller body, which means more space inside the car. The cargo room behind the third row will increase by 80 percent, making it much roomier. The engine in the new Acadia will be a turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine. Furthermore, the GMC Acadia will start production early next year (2024) at the automaker’s Lansing Delta Township plant.
