2025 GMC Yukon Unleashes a Bold Redesign Inside and Out

Introducing the 2025 GMC Yukon, set to make a striking entrance with its refreshed design and enhanced performance features. As part of its fifth-generation update, this beloved SUV receives a bold facelift with new front and rear fascias, a fully updated interior, advanced towing technology, and more. But that’s just the beginning—GMC is also overhauling its engine lineup to offer more variety than ever before.
For the 2025 model year, the Yukon comes with three engine options. First, there are two powerful gasoline engines: the 5.3L V8 L84, generating 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, and the 6.2L V8 L87, which offers a hefty 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The newly introduced 3.0L I6 LZ0 Duramax turbodiesel also provides 305 horsepower and an impressive 495 lb-ft of torque.
The 5.3L V8 L84 comes standard on the Elevation and AT4 trims. At the same time, the 6.2L V8 L87 belongs to the all-new AT4 Ultimate and Denali Ultimate trims and is available to the AT4 without further requirements.
Meanwhile, the new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel is available across all five trim levels, but selecting it requires specific configurations. While the AT4 Ultimate and Denali Ultimate trims can opt for the LZ0 engine without extra packages, other trims must meet particular prerequisites.
Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll need to unlock the LZ0 engine for a fan-chosen trim:
Elevation Trim:
– Option 1: Super Cruise and Trailering Package with a second-row 60/40 split-folding bench.
– Option 2: Elevation Premium Package, Super Cruise, and second-row bucket seats.
AT4 Trim:
– Option 1: AT4 8-Passenger Premium Off-Road Package with a second-row 60/40 split-folding bench.
– Option 2: AT4 Premium Plus Package.
– Option 3: Premium Trailering Package, Technology Package, and Super Cruise.
Denali Trim:
– Option 1: Advanced Technology Package with Super Cruise.
– Option 2: Denali Reserve Package with Super Cruise and second-row bucket seats.
– Option 3: Denali Reserve Package, Premium Capability Package with Active Response 4WD, and Super Cruise.
– Option 4: Denali Reserve Package, Air Ride Suspension, and Super Cruise.
Despite its fresh new look, the 2025 Yukon remains grounded on the proven GM T1 platform, its foundation since the 2021 model year. Production for this updated SUV will begin on October 7th, 2024, at the GM Arlington Assembly plant in Texas, alongside the Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, and Cadillac Escalade.
With a bold new design, cutting-edge features, and a versatile range of powertrain options, the GMC Yukon is gearing up to make a significant impact. Stay tuned for more information, including pricing details, as we get closer to its official launch!
