The 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 Heads for Dealerships
Following its debut in October 2022, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 has started arriving at dealerships across the United States, marking an exciting phase for GMC’s electric lineup. Orders for this eagerly awaited model began in March 2024, and the first units are now hitting the streets.
For the 2024 model year, the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is the only trim available. However, the horizon looks promising with the 2025 model year, which will introduce additional variants, including the Elevation, AT4, and a standard Denali trim. Production for these new models may commence next month, broadening the choices for future buyers.
In other updates, the 2024 Sierra EV’s online configurator is live. GMC only features the Denali Edition 1, with customization options limited mainly to dealer-installed accessories. This flagship model is powered by the American automaker’s state-of-the-art Ultium Drive motors and battery system, delivering a robust 754 horsepower and 758 lb-ft of torque. It offers a remarkable range of up to 400 miles on a single charge, and with a compatible DC fast charger, it can recover up to 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
The Sierra EV utilizes the narrow-body variant of GM’s BT1 platform, the same architecture found in the Chevy Silverado EV. This platform differs from the more comprehensive GMC Hummer EV Pickup and SUV variant. Production of the Sierra EV takes place at GM’s Factory Zero plant in Michigan, ensuring top-notch quality and performance.
